Since God is a Spirit, he bypasses our brains and intellect and seeks only to dwell in our hearts in a place of intimacy. Until we can learn to live from that reality of God in the unseen and our inner man in the unseen, understanding whom we are in him through Christ, we will be incapacitated to loving that wihich we can see.
Most Christians are trying to go twoards this journey but are unable to. They have not learned to live from the unseen reality between God and themselves. (Eph. 4:23,24)
When we make the things on the outside of us to have a more superior role by making the visible more real than the unseen, the "real" takes on a role that God never intended for us to take on. When we live from the exterior it takes a larger role than God wants to take on and it becomes more real to us than the "unseen" sid of things. Therefore, we are subject and hidered by the things which we can see.
If we resource the external as our primary place of focus when things happen in the natural, we are subject to that reality. It becomes more powerful than the marvelous things God has already done within us in Christ Jesus. We have no way of dealing with the external because we have made it a primary concern. We are now bent towards the external and whatever happens to us that we can see becomes primary in our journey with God. Therefore, we can only react to the external situations because we do not have another way to perceive and deal with its dissapointments. Essentially, we have made the external more powerful than the unseen kingdom of God within us and this choice makes us a slave to it's whims and showings.
We can not use external methods to come into the fullness of God. thins like counseling, etc. might make us more skilled at dealing with the external circumstances, with lists of things to do to discipline ourselves, but it will not make the supernatural connection of the intimacy and relationship with God from the inside out. God's kind of love is something that we can activate in our lives no matter what the circumstances are or what happens around us.
We will try hard to do the right thing but never be able to complete it. this is a problem with perhaps 90% of people that are Christians. They are hard pressed to do the right thing but in their doing they never seem to measure up within themselves. Because it is not about "doing" things when it comes to loving others or for that matter even experiencing the blessings of God. It is about "being" and connecting to a reality of God living within us that empowers us to live in the supernatural realm that produces dynamic results in our circumstances.
We will never learn to love what we can see until we learn to love from what we can not see. (For the things which we see are temporary but the things that are unseen are eternal)..
Every crises in the love journey or "connecting" with the power of God is resolved when we learn to live from what we can not see. Any character flaw we see in ourselves or others will be no problem or issue when we learn to live from the perspective of the unseen born again man on the inside of us. This way we are not pressed into measuring others or ourselves based upon external criteria or instances. We base our reality on what God says is already completed in Christ Jesus. It's not part of the journey anymore when we live from the unseen realm of the kingdom of God within us.
In the same way God does not measure his children based upon what we do or don't do. His perception is based and focused upon the unseen perfect spirit man and the spiritual realm and not the external do's and don'ts. If it were, then all of us would fall short consistently. But in Christ Jesus, we are in the spiritual realm and the spiritual realm does not need or use external entities to deternime it's blessing or supernatural provision method. It only requires faith in the unseen realm in order to manifest the essentials, desires, and needs into the external realm.
As we agree with what God has already wrought for us in Jesus Christ within us more than the external circumstances (self evaluation, guilt, self examination, etc.), then we can experience a consistent supernatural flow from the Spirit of God and Grace that enables, empowers, and exercises authority over every external thing that we can see. In this we understand that we don't have to love anyone, we get to. It is a byproduct of us accepting God's love for us and it flows through us to others.
When we worship God we fellowship with Jesus. True worship is not singing songs about Jesus. True worship is worshipping "with" Jesus and "in him." Just as the joy "of" the Lord is not getting happy "about" him but acknowledging and receiving the exact same joy Jesus has now, worship functions the same way.
Jesus still worships the Father, in that the Father is his "best friend" and confidant" that supplies all of his majesty, goodness, and Love into the person and existence of Jesus Christ.
As we worship the Father in "spirit" and in truth, we understand that we are spirits just as Jesus is and connect with the Father in a more intimate discourse. This is the essence of Faith..
